What we have here is a beautiful remnant from the 1953 NBA All Star Game in Ft. Wayne, Indiana This was an award or gift that appears to be a humidor or pot. It is in gorgeous condition and is engraved on the top and says "National Basketball Association Annual All Star Game January 13, 1953." The bottom is engraved L. E. Mason Co. Boston Mass. This was the third NBA All Star Game in its then short history. In the game, the West beat the East and George Mikan of the West led the team with 22 points and 16 rebounds. The All Star game had its first African American play in the game, Don Barksdale. John Kundla was the head coach of the West while Joe Lapchick was the head coach of the East. WOW!!!!
